Last month, youth from CSTO’s Teen Program spent three days and two nights at the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Noble View Outdoor Center. Teens went on two day hikes, and learned outdoor skills such as reading maps, using compasses, and outdoor safety. In addition, teens played games, searched the stars for constellations, roasted s’mores and shared stories!
“It was great to get away from the city” said teen intern, Alyssa Zhao. Another teen intern, Wendy Han stated “I think hiking was pretty challenging but doing it with other people was really fun and when we made it to our destination -- it was really rewarding.”
This trip was made possible by CSTO’s partnership with the AMC’s Youth Opportunities Program. The trip was led by one AMC staff member, Tim Chen, and two CSTO staff members, Madeline Muhlberg, Teen Program Coordinator, and Casey Bell, Director of Community Programs.
